Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Not for adult use (adults typically use 10 mg daily).
Elderly
Not typically used in this strength for elderly; refer to 10 mg dosage for adults if applicable.

One 4 mg chewable tablet once daily in the evening.
How to Take
Take orally once daily in the evening, with or without food. The 4 mg chewable tablet should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.
Mechanism of Action
Montelukast selectively inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene 1 (CysLT1) receptor, blocking the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory mediators involved in asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Primarily excreted in the feces via bile (approximately 86%), with less than 0.2% excreted in urine.
