Overview of the medicine
Nesotem (Desloratadine) is a non-sedating antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
5 mg (1 tablet) orally once daily.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required for elderly patients without renal or hepatic impairment.
Renal_impairment
For patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min), reduce dosage to 5 mg every other day.
How to Take
Administer orally with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, thereby preventing the effects of histamine.
