Description
Overview of the medicine
Nolargy 30 mg Suspension contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a second-generation antihistamine used for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. It provides non-sedating relief from sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose/palate/throat, and itchy watery eyes.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once daily. For suspension, 30 mg twice daily may be for children or adjusted based on age/weight.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment is usually required for elderly patients with normal renal function.
Renal_impairment
Initial dose of 60 mg once daily is recommended for adults; for children, dose reduction should be considered.
How to Take
Shake the bottle well before each use. Take orally, with or without food, as directed by a physician. Use the provided measuring device for accurate dosing.
Mechanism of Action
Fexofenadine is a selective peripheral H1-blocker. It binds to H1 receptors and prevents the action of histamine, which is responsible for allergic symptoms, without significantly crossing the blood-brain barrier, thus minimizing sedative effects.
Pharmacokinetics

Within 1 hour
Excretion
Mainly excreted unchanged in feces (approx. 80%) and urine (approx. 10%).
Half life
Approximately 11-15 hours

Rapidly absorbed after oral administration; peak plasma concentrations reached in 1-3 hours.
Metabolism
Minimally metabolized; hepatic metabolism is negligible.
