Overview of the medicine
Otonix contains Ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, used to treat bacterial infections of the ear.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 4 drops into the affected ear twice daily for 7 days.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required for elderly patients.

No specific dosage adjustment required for renal impairment with topical use.
How to Take
For otic use only. Tilt head to one side, administer drops, keep head tilted for a few minutes.
Mechanism of Action
Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.
