For oral inhalation only using a dry powder inhaler device (e.g., Turbuhaler, Rotahaler). Do not swallow the capsule. After inhalation, rinse mouth with water to minimize risk of oral candidiasis.

Budesonide is a glucocorticosteroid that exerts its anti-inflammatory effects by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in the cytoplasm of target cells. This complex then translocates to the nucleus, modifying gene expression to inhibit the synthesis of inflammatory mediators (e.g., cytokines, chemokines) and upregulate anti-inflammatory proteins. This leads to a reduction in airway hyperresponsiveness, edema, and mucus production.

• •Acute bronchospasm or status asthmaticus.
• •Hypersensitivity to Budesonide or any components of the capsule.

Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Acute overdose is unlikely to cause clinically significant problems. Chronic overdose may lead to signs and symptoms of hypercorticism. Treatment should be supportive and symptomatic. Dosing should be reduced gradually under medical supervision.

Pregnancy Category B. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Budesonide is excreted in breast milk; however, at therapeutic doses, effects on the breastfed infant are unlikely. Consult a doctor.
