Description
Overview of the medicine
Sporin is a topical antibiotic ointment containing Polymyxin B, Neomycin, and Bacitracin Zinc. It is used to prevent and treat minor skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a small amount to the affected area 1 to 3 times daily.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage.

How to Take
Clean the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer and gently rub it in. May be covered with a sterile bandage.
Mechanism of Action
Polymyxin B and Bacitracin inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis and damage the bacterial cell membrane, while Neomycin interferes with bacterial protein synthesis. Together, they provide broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.
