Starin 200 mg capsule is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for pain relief and reducing inflammation. It helps in alleviating symptoms associated with various inflammatory conditions.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One 200 mg capsule 2-3 times daily with food, or as directed by physician. Max 600 mg/day.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required due to increased sensitivity and potential for renal impairment.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution; dose adjustment may be necessary. Avoid in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Oral, preferably with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Starin inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever, thereby reducing these symptoms.

Storage

Overdose
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, headache, drowsiness. Management involves symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered within the first hour.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Avoid during the third trimester of pregnancy due to risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. Use with caution during first and second trimesters and during lactation, only if benefits outweigh risks and under medical supervision.
