Starin works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, specifically COX-1 and COX-2. These enzymes are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever. By blocking prostaglandin production, Starin reduces these symptoms.

• •Known hypersensitivity to Starin or other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin-induced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions)
• •Active or recurrent peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
• •Severe heart failure, renal impairment, or hepatic impairment
• •Third trimester of pregnancy
• •Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, lethargy, drowsiness, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Management involves symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage or activated charcoal may be considered if ingestion is recent.
