Shake the bottle well before each use. Administer orally with a measuring spoon or oral syringe. Can be taken with or without food. Complete the full course of medication even if symptoms improve.

Cefixime, like other beta-lactam antibiotics, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall. This prevents the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains, leading to cell wall defects and eventual bacterial lysis and death.

• •Hypersensitivity to cefixime or other cephalosporins
• •History of severe hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin (cross-allergenicity)

Store dry powder below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Store reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C) and discard after 7-14 days, as directed.

Gastric lavage may be indicated. Cefixime is not removed in significant quantities by hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Symptomatic and supportive treatment is recommended.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus. Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Excreted in low concentrations into breast milk. Use with caution during lactation.
