Esomiloc 40 mg Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production, treating conditions like GERD, ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
GERD/Erosive Esophagitis: 20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: 40 mg twice daily, adjusted as needed. H. pylori eradication: 40 mg once daily with antibiotics for 10 days.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment generally required for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required for patients with renal impairment.
How to Take
Take orally, at least one hour before a meal. Swallow whole; do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.
Mechanism of Action
Esomeprazole works by irreversibly binding to and inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion.

Excreted primarily through urine (80%) and feces (20%).
