Purisal 1 mg Tablet is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching. It works by blocking histamine, a natural substance that the body produces during an allergic reaction.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1 mg once daily, preferably in the evening.
Elderly
No dose adjustment usually required, but caution is advised in patients with renal impairment.
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment may be necessary based on creatinine clearance. For CrCl < 30 mL/min, 1 mg every other day.
How to Take
Take orally with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Mechanism of Action
Purisaline, the active ingredient, is a potent H1-receptor antagonist. It selectively blocks peripheral H1-histamine receptors, thereby inhibiting the effects of histamine and alleviating allergic symptoms.
