Pediatric

For infants and children aged 3 months to 12 years: 10 mg/kg twice daily for most infections (maximum 250 mg daily). For otitis media or more severe infections: 15 mg/kg twice daily (maximum 500 mg daily). The reconstituted suspension should be accurately measured using the provided dropper or oral syringe. (e.g., 2.5 mL of 125 mg/5 mL suspension equals 62.5 mg, 5 mL equals 125 mg).

Renal_impairment

In pediatric patients with renal impairment, dosage should be reduced based on creatinine clearance. Consult detailed prescribing information for specific adjustments (e.g., dose interval prolongation for severe impairment).

Antacids/H2 Blockers/PPIs

Drugs that reduce gastric acidity may reduce the bioavailability of cefuroxime axetil. Take cefuroxime at least one hour before or two hours after antacids.
