Kilmax

For intravenous infusion only. Must be reconstituted and diluted according to package inserts. Administer slowly over at least 3-4 hours to minimize infusion-related reactions. Do not administer as a bolus injection.

Kilmax acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to D-Ala-D-Ala precursors, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death. It also has a secondary mechanism involving disruption of bacterial membrane integrity, contributing to its broad-spectrum activity.

• Known hypersensitivity to Kilmax or any of its excipients
• Patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to similar antibiotics

Store below 25°C (77°F). Do not freeze. Protect from light. Reconstituted solution is stable for 24 hours at 2-8°C (36-46°F).

Limited data on overdose. Symptoms may include exaggerated side effects such as severe nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, and neurological disturbances. Treatment is largely supportive; hemodialysis may be considered for severe cases.

Pregnancy Category C. Use only if potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Excreted into breast milk; caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing mother. Consult a physician.
