Kilmax 750 mg Injection should be administered slowly intravenously (over 3-5 minutes) or deeply intramuscularly. It should be reconstituted with sterile water for injection as per manufacturer's instructions. Do not mix with other medications in the same syringe.

Kilmax, containing Cefixime, is a third-generation cephalosporin that exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, which prevents the transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death.

In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be initiated. Hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis may aid in the removal of the drug, especially in patients with impaired renal function.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have not shown a risk, but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Excreted in low concentrations in breast milk; caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing mother.
