Metronidazole is an antibiotic and anti-protozoal medication used to treat a wide variety of infections, including parasitic infections and bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 200-400 mg three times daily, duration varies by infection.
Elderly
Dose adjustments may be considered based on renal/hepatic function.

How to Take

Mechanism of Action
Metronidazole enters the bacterial or protozoal cell, is reduced by redox proteins to form reactive nitro-radicals, which then damage DNA and other macromolecules, leading to cell death.

Storage
