Nyclobate 0.05% Cream contains Clobetasol Propionate, a very potent corticosteroid used to treat various inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area once or twice daily. Do not exceed 50g per week. Treatment should not exceed 4 consecutive weeks.
Elderly
Use with caution and for short periods. Systemic absorption may be increased in patients with thin skin.
Renal_impairment
No specific dose adjustment is generally required for topical use, but prolonged use or use over large areas should be monitored carefully.
How to Take
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin and rub in gently. Wash hands after application unless hands are the treated area. Do not use on the face, groin, or axillae unless directed by a physician. Avoid contact with eyes.
Mechanism of Action
Clobetasol propionate is a corticosteroid that binds to glucocorticoid receptors, inhibiting the release of hydrolytic enzymes from leukocytes, preventing macrophage accumulation in inflamed areas, reducing adhesion of leukocytes to capillary endothelium, and decreasing vasodilation and permeability of capillaries. This results in reduced inflammation, pruritus, and vasoconstriction.
