Overview of the medicine
Vecef (Cefixime) is an oral third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Adults: 200-400 mg once daily or 200 mg twice daily, depending on the infection. Duration typically 7-14 days.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment needed for elderly patients unless severe renal impairment exists.
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl < 30 mL/min).
How to Take
Administer orally, with or without food. For better absorption, it can be taken with food if gastrointestinal upset occurs.

Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).
