For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch. Drop medicine and close eye. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to prevent contamination. If using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.

Azithromycin works by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis and impeding bacterial growth.

• •Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, any macrolide antibiotic, or any component of the formulation.

Store at room temperature (below 30°C). Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Accidental overdose is unlikely with ophthalmic use. If swallowed, supportive care and observation are recommended. No specific antidote.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus; however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is unknown whether azithromycin is excreted in human milk following ophthalmic administration; use with caution in nursing mothers.
