Uses & Indications

Treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

Treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder.

Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder to prevent relapse.

Dosage

Adults

Schizophrenia: Initially 10-15 mg/day, target range 10-20 mg/day. Bipolar mania: Initially 10-15 mg/day.

Elderly

Lower starting dose, e.g., 5 mg/day, with gradual titration under close monitoring.

Renal_impairment

No specific dose adjustment is generally needed, but caution and monitoring are advised.

How to Take

Administer once daily, with or without food. It is recommended to take it at bedtime due to potential sedation.
