Overview of the medicine
Feva-Plus 500 mg Tablet is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. It contains Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) as its active ingredient.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
500 mg to 1000 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, maximum 4000 mg in 24 hours.
Elderly
Same as adult dose, but caution advised for those with hepatic or renal impairment.
Renal_impairment
Adjust dose interval for severe renal impairment. CrCl 10-50 mL/min: 6 hours; CrCl <10 mL/min: 8 hours.
How to Take
Oral. Can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Mechanism of Action
Paracetamol works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, primarily in the central nervous system, which leads to analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Onset
Pain relief: 30-60 minutes, Fever reduction: within 30 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted in urine as glucuronide and sulfate conjugates. Less than 5% is excreted unchanged.
Half life
1-4 hours, typically 2-3 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily via glucuronidation and sulfation. A small portion is metabolized by cytochrome P450 to a toxic intermediate (NAPQI).

Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and liver damage. Seek immediate medical attention. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is the antidote.
