Description
Overview of the medicine
Flexibac 10 mg Tablet is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used for the symptomatic relief of acute painful musculoskeletal conditions associated with muscle spasm.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
The usual adult dose is 10 mg three times daily. May be increased to 20 mg three times daily based on response and tolerability.
Elderly
Initiate with a lower dose, e.g., 5 mg twice daily, and gradually titrate based on response and tolerability due to increased sensitivity.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage reduction may be necessary in patients with severe renal impairment (e.g., 5 mg once or twice daily).
How to Take
Take Flexibac 10 mg Tablet orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
Mechanism of Action
Flexibac acts primarily on the central nervous system to produce skeletal muscle relaxation, likely by inhibiting polysynaptic reflexes at the spinal cord level. It reduces muscle hypertonia without affecting voluntary muscle function significantly.
Pharmacokinetics

Onset of action typically occurs within 30-60 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted by the kidneys, with a small portion excreted in feces. About 70% is excreted unchanged in urine.
Half life
Elimination half-life is approximately 3-6 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration. Peak plasma concentrations are reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver via oxidative pathways, with inactive metabolites.
Side Effects
Contraindications

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
