Overview of the medicine

Aclobet-005 Ointment contains Clobetasol Propionate, a very potent topical corticosteroid, used for short-term treatment of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of steroid-responsive dermatoses.

Uses & Indications

Moderate to severe eczema

Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)

Lichen planus

Discoid lupus erythematosus

Other steroid-responsive dermatoses resistant to less potent corticosteroids

Dosage

Adults

Apply a thin film to the affected skin area once or twice daily. Treatment should be limited to 2-4 weeks. Total dose should not exceed 50g per week.

Elderly

No specific dosage adjustment is generally required, but caution should be exercised due to potential for thinner skin and increased systemic absorption.

How to Take

For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area and rub in gently. Wash hands thoroughly after application, unless the hands are the area being treated.

Mechanism of Action

Clobetasol Propionate works by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins, which are collectively called lipocortins.
