Overview of the medicine
Artear-5-V Eye Drop is an ocular lubricant used to relieve dry, irritated eyes. It helps to moisten the eyes and provides temporary relief from burning, irritation, and discomfort caused by dryness of the eye.
Uses & Indications

How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid to create a pouch, apply drops, and close eye gently. Do not touch dropper tip to any surface.
Mechanism of Action
Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium (CMC) acts as an ophthalmic lubricant. It increases the viscosity of the tear film, thereby prolonging contact time with the ocular surface. It also forms a protective layer on the eye surface, reducing irritation and providing moisture.
Pharmacokinetics

Within minutes of application.
Excretion
Primarily cleared from the ocular surface through blinking and tear drainage.
Half life
Not applicable for systemic half-life; local effect persists for a few hours.
Absorption
Carboxymethylcellulose sodium is not significantly absorbed into the systemic circulation following ocular administration.
Metabolism
Not systemically metabolized.

Overdose
Ocular overdose is unlikely to cause systemic toxicity due to minimal systemic absorption. If accidentally ingested, no serious effects are expected.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Carboxymethylcellulose sodium is considered safe for use during pregnancy and lactation due to minimal systemic absorption. Consult a doctor if concerned.
