Clinical Trials

Extensive clinical trials have demonstrated AUP's efficacy and safety in the treatment of various acid-related disorders, including GERD and peptic ulcers.

Lab Monitoring

• Liver function tests (periodically with long-term use).
• Serum magnesium levels (consider with prolonged use or concurrent diuretic therapy).

Doctor Notes

• Consider duration of PPI therapy; re-evaluate the need for continued treatment periodically.
• Monitor for hypomagnesemia in patients on prolonged therapy, especially with diuretics.
• Advise patients on clopidogrel to discuss alternative treatments if AUP is absolutely necessary.

Patient Guidelines

• Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.
• Inform your doctor about all other medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking.

Missed Dose Advice

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

Driving Precautions

AUP generally does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or visual disturbances, avoid such activities.

Lifestyle Advice

• Avoid trigger foods such as spicy foods, fatty foods, and citrus fruits.
• Maintain a healthy weight.
• Elevate the head of your bed when sleeping to reduce reflux symptoms.
