Clinical Trials

As a well-established OTC ophthalmic decongestant, extensive clinical trials for new formulations are rare, but efficacy and safety are well-documented for its active ingredient (e.g., Naphazoline).

Lab Monitoring

• No routine lab monitoring is required for this medication.

Doctor Notes

• Advise patients not to exceed recommended duration of use (typically 72 hours) to avoid rebound hyperemia.
• Caution in patients with hypertension, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or cardiac disease due to potential for systemic absorption.

Patient Guidelines

• Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
• Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy.
• Do not use for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor to avoid rebound redness.

Missed Dose Advice

If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

Driving Precautions

May cause temporary blurred vision or pupil dilation. Exercise caution when driving or operating machinery until vision clears.
