Description
Overview of the medicine
Eyecaf-025 Eye Drop is used for the temporary relief of redness, itching, and minor irritation of the eye due to colds, pollen, wind, sun, or other irritants. It acts as an ophthalmic decongestant.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to four times a day. Do not use for more than 72 hours without consulting a doctor.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease.
Renal_impairment
No specific dosage adjustment recommended as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, and instill the prescribed number of drops. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface.
Mechanism of Action
Eyecaf-025 (assumed Naphazoline HCl) is an alpha-adrenergic agonist that produces vasoconstriction by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the arterioles of the conjunctiva. This reduces redness and congestion in the eye.
