Description
Overview of the medicine
Feviz-Plus Capsule is a comprehensive nutritional supplement designed to provide essential vitamins and minerals to support overall health, boost immunity, and help prevent deficiencies.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Usually 1 capsule daily, or as directed by a physician.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage, or as directed by a physician, considering individual nutritional needs.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage adjustment may be required for certain mineral components, consult a physician.
How to Take
Taken orally, preferably with a meal to enhance absorption and minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Provides essential micronutrients vital for various metabolic processes, cell growth, red blood cell formation, immune function, and energy production. Iron is crucial for hemoglobin, folic acid for DNA synthesis, zinc for immune function, and B vitamins for energy metabolism.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Nutritional effects are gradual and sustained, taking weeks to months to correct deficiencies. Acute effects, such as improved energy, might be felt sooner.
Excretion
Water-soluble vitamins and excess minerals are primarily excreted via the kidneys in urine. Unabsorbed portions are eliminated in feces.
Half life
Varies significantly by component. Water-soluble vitamins (B, C) have shorter half-lives and are excreted relatively quickly, while fat-soluble vitamins (if present) and minerals can have longer retention times.
Absorption
Vitamins and minerals are absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, primarily in the small intestine. Absorption rates vary based on the specific nutrient and presence of other food components.
Metabolism
Water-soluble vitamins are generally not extensively metabolized and are excreted. Minerals are primarily used in metabolic pathways or stored. Some B vitamins (e.g., B6, B12) undergo metabolic conversions to their active coenzyme forms.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Hemochromatosis or other iron overload disorders
Drug Interactions
Antacids
Can reduce the absorption of some minerals. Administer Feviz-Plus at a different time.
Thyroid hormones
Iron can interfere with the absorption of thyroid hormones. Separate administration by at least 4 hours.
Tetracycline and Quinolone antibiotics
Iron and some minerals can chelate these antibiotics, reducing their absorption. Take Feviz-Plus at least 2 hours before or after these antibiotics.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Acute overdose symptoms may include gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), abdominal pain. Severe iron overdose can be life-threatening. Seek immediate medical attention.
