Flumin 5 mg Oral Solution is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic reactions such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching. It works by blocking histamine, a natural substance that the body produces during an allergic reaction.

Uses & Indications

Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

Relief of symptoms associated with perennial allergic rhinitis.

Treatment of uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives).

Dosage

Adults

5 mg (10 mL) once daily.

Elderly

No specific dose adjustment is required, but caution should be exercised.

Renal_impairment

For patients with moderate to severe renal impairment (CrCl < 50 mL/min), the recommended starting dose is 5 mg (10 mL) every other day.

How to Take

Take Flumin oral solution once daily, with or without food. Use the provided measuring cup or spoon for accurate dosing.

Mechanism of Action

Flumin acts as a selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist. It prevents histamine from binding to H1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the effects of histamine and reducing allergic symptoms like vasodilation, increased capillary permeability, and itching.

Pregnancy Category B. Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Exercise caution when administered to a nursing woman as Flumin is excreted in breast milk.
