Overview of the medicine
Fluxin 125 mg Suspension is an oral antibacterial medication primarily used to treat various bacterial infections in children, including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. It contains Fluxin as its active ingredient.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Children
10-20 mg/kg/day divided into 2 doses, or as directed by physician. For typical infections, 5ml (125mg) twice daily for children weighing 10-15 kg.

How to Take
Shake the bottle well before each use. Administer orally using the provided measuring spoon or oral syringe. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Fluxin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing bacterial growth and replication. It is bacteriostatic at low concentrations and bactericidal at higher concentrations.

Side Effects

Drug Interactions
Antacids

Warfarin
May enhance anticoagulant effect, requiring INR monitoring.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze the reconstituted suspension.
Overdose
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive; gastric lavage may be considered if recent ingestion.
