Clinical Trials
Ongoing phase IV trials are exploring Kanevacil's long-term safety profile in specific patient populations, as well as its efficacy in chronic pain management when combined with other therapies.
Lab Monitoring
- Regular monitoring of renal function (serum creatinine, BUN) in long-term therapy or in patients with risk factors.
- Liver function tests (LFTs) periodically, especially in patients with pre-existing hepatic impairment.
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) to check for anemia, especially with long-term use.
Doctor Notes
- Advise patients to report any signs of gastrointestinal bleeding (e.g., black, tarry stools) immediately.
- Caution in patients with a history of hypertension or heart failure due to fluid retention risk.
- Consider gastroprotective agents for high-risk patients on long-term therapy.
Patient Guidelines
- Always take Kaneva with food or milk to reduce stomach upset.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.
- Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects.
- Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or aspirin without consulting your doctor.
Missed Dose Advice
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Driving Precautions
Kaneva may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. If you experience these effects, avoid driving or operating machinery.
Lifestyle Advice
- Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as these can increase the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
- Maintain a healthy diet and stay hydrated.
