Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Schizophrenia: Initially 5-10 mg once daily. Bipolar Mania: Initially 10-15 mg once daily. Dosage adjustment based on clinical response and tolerability, usually ranging from 5-20 mg/day.
Elderly
Lower starting dose (e.g., 5 mg/day) may be considered, and dosage should be carefully titrated.
Renal_impairment
No routine dosage adjustment is required in renal impairment, but caution is advised in severe cases.
Hepatic_impairment
Lower starting dose (e.g., 5 mg/day) should be considered, and dosage titration should be conservative.
How to Take
Take orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Use in pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Neonates exposed to antipsychotic drugs during the third trimester of pregnancy are at risk for extrapyramidal and/or withdrawal symptoms. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to excretion into breast milk.
