OleanZ 10 mg Tablet contains Olanzapine, an atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Uses & Indications

Treatment of schizophrenia

Treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes in bipolar I disorder

Prevention of recurrence in bipolar I disorder

Treatment of moderate to severe depressive episodes in bipolar I disorder (in combination with fluoxetine)

Dosage

Adults

Schizophrenia: Initially 5-10 mg once daily. Bipolar Mania: Initially 10-15 mg once daily. Dosage adjustment based on clinical response and tolerability, usually ranging from 5-20 mg/day.

Elderly

Lower starting dose (e.g., 5 mg/day) may be considered, and dosage should be carefully titrated.

Renal_impairment

No routine dosage adjustment is required in renal impairment, but caution is advised in severe cases.

Hepatic_impairment

Lower starting dose (e.g., 5 mg/day) should be considered, and dosage titration should be conservative.

How to Take

Take orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Use in pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Neonates exposed to antipsychotic drugs during the third trimester of pregnancy are at risk for extrapyramidal and/or withdrawal symptoms. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to excretion into breast milk.
