Overview of the medicine

Mechanism of Action
Indacaterol is a selective long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). It stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors in the smooth muscle of the lung, leading to bronchodilation. This effect is sustained for at least 24 hours.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Within 5 minutes.
Excretion
Primarily via feces (90%), with a minor portion excreted renally (10%).
Half life
Terminal half-life is 40-52 hours, reflecting slow release from the lung.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed after inhalation, reaching peak plasma concentration within 15-30 minutes. Absolute bioavailability is approximately 43%.
Metabolism
Primarily hepatic, via hydroxylation by UGT1A1 and CYP3A4.

May potentiate adverse effects.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
