Description
Overview of the medicine
Mendil-14-mg-syrup is an antihistamine syrup used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic conditions such as hay fever, perennial allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria. It helps reduce itching, sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose.
Uses & Indications
Dosage

14 mg (one dose) once daily in the evening. May be taken with or without food.
Elderly
A reduced dose of 7 mg (half dose) once daily may be considered due to potential decreases in renal function.
Renal_impairment
For mild renal impairment (CrCl 50-79 mL/min), no dose adjustment needed. For moderate (CrCl 30-49 mL/min), 7 mg once daily. For severe (CrCl < 30 mL/min), 7 mg every other day. Not recommended for end-stage renal disease patients on dialysis.
How to Take
For oral administration. The recommended dose should be taken once daily in the evening, with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Mendil-14-mg-syrup, as a selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist, works by blocking the action of histamine, a natural substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. By blocking histamine, it prevents the symptoms of allergies from occurring or reduces their severity.
